Good ship configuration can massively boost your performance

This is a quick guide to configure your ship. If you want to read the detailed explanation of each equipment and consumables, check the links below:

Advanced disaster retardant module is always picked for equipment slot 1. Damage control is always on consumable slot 1. Repair is always on consumable slot 2. The only exception is Charlemagne.

JAPAN

Super Yamato, Yamato Refit, Yamato, and Musashi.

  • If you want to point your bow towards your enemy most of the time (bowtank), choose disaster control module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. This is usually a better strategy in PVP.
  • If you want to snipe from long range, use all guns, and rely on acceleration and deceleration to dodge enemy attacks (speed juke), choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and main battery enhancement module in equipment slot 3. These ships already have good accuracy, but their turret rotation speed is very bad. When maneuvering, slow turret rotation speed often makes them lose target lock. Main battery enhancement module helps mitigate that problem. This is usually a better strategy in arena.

Nagato, Omi, Izumi, and Amagi.

  • Choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. These ships are only good for sniping. Change speed quickly (speed juke) to dodge incoming attacks.

FRANCE

Charlemagne, Alsace

  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose steering gears enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and main battery enhancement module in equipment slot 3.
  • If you want to be a sniper or support, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3.

France, Joan of Arc, and Toulouse

  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose steering gears enhancement module equipment slot 2 and main battery enhancement module in equipment slot 3. Engine overload consumable is preferable because it can increase your maneuverability to dodge attacks and you can run away quickly if the situation gets worse.
  • If you want to be a sniper or support, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. Quick load battery consumable is preferable because if the enemy is showing broadside you can shoot him quickly before he escapes.
  • Consumable choices can be swapped based on your preference.

Jean Bart

  • If you’re going to fight against ships that can overmatch your bow (450mm+ caliber or M-AP shells) or it’s a CV battle, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. Against those enemies you can’t stay still. You need to maneuver. This is a safer option in PVP because you can’t predict what enemies you’re going to face. In arena, you can predict the enemies based on available ships and team composition.
  • If your enemies cannot overmatch your bow and it’s not a CV battle, choose disaster control module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3.

Richelieu

  • If you’re going to fight against ships that has M-AP shells or it’s a CV battle, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. Engine overload consumable is preferable because it can increase your maneuverability to dodge attacks and you can run away quickly if the situation gets worse. Against those enemies you can’t stay still. You need to maneuver. This is a safer option in PVP because you can’t predict what enemies you’re going to face. In arena, you can predict the enemies based on available ships and team composition.

Gascogne and Lyon

  • Choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. These ships are good as supports, shooting from medium to long range. Their gun configuration makes them need to show broadside to fire a full salvo, so they need maneuverability supplied by engine enhancement module to dodge attacks.

SOVIET / RUSSIAN EMPIRE

Ingermanland, Admiral Nakhimov, Navarino, and Lord Constantine

  • Choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. These ships rely on quick maneuvering to survive because their armor is bad. Their accuracy is also bad, but gun handling is nice so aiming system module is preferable.

Pr24 and Pr23

  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose steering gears enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3.
  • If you want to be a sniper or support, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3.

Soviet Union and Pr64

  • Choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. These ships are only good for sniping. Change speed quickly (speed juke) to dodge incoming attacks.

Kaliningrad, Pr21

  • Choose disaster control module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. These ships must point their bow towards the enemy all the time because their armor is bad.

UNITED KINGDOM / BRITAIN

L3, Temeraire, Lion, Princess Royal, King George V, and Nelson

  • If you want to be a support, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. With this configuration, these ships will gain cruiser-level acceleration. If you speed juke properly, you can show broadside at medium range and the enemies can’t hit you.
  • If you hate fires, choose disaster control module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3.
  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose steering gears enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. These ships already have good acceleration. This configuration gives more agility for close combat.

K2, Vanguard, Hood, and Prince of Wales

  • Choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. Choose engine overload consumable. These ships are only good for shooting from a safe distance and kiting due to bad armor. Use their amazing acceleration to dodge attacks.

G3

  • If you want to be a support, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. Choose engine overload consumable.
  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose disaster control module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. Choose engine overload consumable. The guns are at the front so it doesn’t need to maneuver that much, but it’s very vulnerable to fires so this configuration will increase its survivability in close combat.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Maine

  • For general purpose, choose disaster control module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. Maine is very slow and can’t avoid incoming attacks.
  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose steering gears enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. This configuration gives Maine more agility in close combat.

Montana and North Carolina

  • If you want to be a sniper or support, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3.
  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose disaster control module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. Those ships have very strong bow armor but weak side armor so bowtanking is a good option.

Illinois

  • For general purpose, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. This configuration is flexible and can be used in any situation.
  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose steering gears enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and secondary armament enhancement module in equipment slot 3. Illinois has great secondary battery range and can terrorize any ship once it gets close.

Louisiana, Massachussets, and West Virginia

  • Choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. These ships are only good as a sniper or support. Change speed quickly (speed juke) to dodge incoming attacks or try to angle as good as possible if you can’t dodge it.

Iowa/Wisconsin

  • If you want to be a sniper or support, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3.
  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose steering gears enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3.

Missouri

  • If you want to be a sniper or support, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3.
  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose steering gears enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3.
  • AA evasion consumable is usually the best choice for all kinds of matchup, but you can consider radar consumable if you want to play aggressively in a DD battle.

GERMAN

H42, H41, H39, Bismarck, Gneisenau

  • If you want more maneuverability and flexibility, choose steering gears enhancement module in equipment slot 2. This is a recommended module because they already have improved damage control and repair.
  • If you really hate fires or you want to bowtank the enemy, choose disaster control module in equipment slot 2.
  • Always choose secondary armament enhancement module in equipment slot 3. Trying to improve the main gun with equipment still won’t make their performance comparable to other ships, so it’s better to improve the secondary guns instead. If you want to fight at long range, better choose other ships.

Tirpitz

  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose steering gears enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and secondary armament enhancement module in equipment slot 3. This configuration is generally a better choice in PVP because Tirpitz is very strong for close range combat.
  • If you want to trade shots at medium range, choose steering gears enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. Unlike other German battleships, Tirpitz has decent accuracy and can benefit from aiming system module although the performance won’t be as good as other nation’s ships.

Ersatz Yorck (York Replacement)

  • If you like an aggressive playstyle, choose steering gears enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. This configuration is generally a better choice in PVP.
  • If you want to trade shots at medium range, choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. Change speed quickly (speed juke) to dodge incoming attacks.

ITALIA

Raphael, Veneto, Andrea Doria

  • Choose engine enhancement module in equipment slot 2 and aiming system module in equipment slot 3. This is a general purpose configuration, but those ships are better for long range fights.
